There are many different roles in the health sector including: primary health practitioners such as GPs, doctors and nurses, and allied health workers such as psychologists, counsellors.
You may have contact with siblings in one of two ways:
- If they engage with you to support their own health
- As siblings to a person with disability, chronic illness or mental illness that you may be supporting.
In either situation, by understanding what the impacts are of being a sibling, you can have a significant impact on their health and wellbeing and increase their capacity to contribute to a good life for them and their brother or sister with a disability.
