On April 10, 2025, Her Excellency, the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC was appointed as Patron of Siblings Australia.

The appointment coincided with National Siblings Day – a day dedicated to recognising and celebrating the vital role more than 4 million Australian siblings play in the lives of their siblings with a disability or chronic illness.

Upon her appointment, the Governor-General said, “Siblings Australia’s work highlights the vital role siblings of children and adults with disability play over a lifetime. Siblings Australia play an important role to support them as they support their loved ones.”

Her Excellency’s leadership, exceptional service to the Australian community and lived experience as a sibling make this partnership truly special.
